30/09/08 The Fotherington Insurance Group - new strategy

Following the rebasing of the Second Life economy and substantial retrenchment of the Second Life financial system I have decided to, firstly, come back into Second Life and, secondly, broaden the activities of the company to include insurance as well as re-insurance.

This does not indicate that I believe the Second Life economy is about to stabilise. Indeed, the Second Life economy continues to decline as the deleveraging effect of the closure of the bank system is leaving surplus land on the market which is depressing prices and rental values.

However, the financial system within Second Life has, I believe, stabilised and therefore now is a good time to launch additional services into Second Life which can bring added confidence and liquidity to the financial economy.

To that end, The Fotherington Insurance Group intends to offer insurance to residents and companies that hold investments on exchanges to cover their investment in the event that the investment becomes insolvent. The company also intends to offer insurance to the exchanges themselves to cover fraud. In addition, the traditional business of providing re-insurance to other insurance companies will continue.

Insurance coverage will be determined through thorough due diligence on on the companies listed on the exchanges and the exchanges themselves.

Surplus assets over and above that required to cover the insurance exposure will be invested in shares and land.

the September monthly financials will be released within the next three days. the expected Net assets are L329,833$, consisting of cash L594,833$ less the Insurance Reserve of L265,000$.
