Our History
The Fotherington Insurance Group was founded on 4 October 2007 and is owned 100% by Percy Fotherington. The company was initially called SL-Reinsurance, and purely provided reinsurance. On 30 September 2008 the company was re-named to The Fotherington Insurance Group to better reflect its business activities.
The headoffice is located at Wetherbee (205,69,38)
Our core aim is to become Second Life's key provider of insurance and reinsurance business. To achieve this we aim to gain a clear leadership position and recognition in our markets for astute risk management and financial strength.
Our Strategy is to achieve an underwriting capacity of L$1,000,000 whilst writing profitable business across the insurance cycle. We will hold sufficient security in the form of L$ carried on avatars to cover the four largest insurance exposures we have.
Our core purpose in writting insurance and reinsurance is to provide "continuity in an uncertain world" to our clients. The insured can be confident they have selected a leading provider of insurance who understands their business and will always respond quickly to their needs - especially the settlement of claims.
